Oil fired unit heaters are commonly used in factories, warehouses, boiler rooms, and other large spaces. With a small, compact design, these industrial oil fired unit heaters are typically mounted on the ceiling to help you save space on the floor and wall, although there are horizontal oil fired unit heaters as well. Known for thermal efficiency and a long life in service, oil fired unit heaters are a great heating solution, particularly when propane and natural gas aren't readily available.
At NorthStock, we carry oil fired unit heaters from trusted manufacturers like Beacon Morris, Modine, Sterling, and Lanair. These units have heat outputs ranging from 30,000 - 450,000 BTUH, which can easily keep large spaces such as auto shops and hangars warm.
We carry both clean oil and waste oil fired unit heaters. These units are factory assembled with features like corrosion resistant aluminized steel, removable access doors, and more. Your oil fired unit heater model can also include optional accessories for increased performance. This includes wall-mounted thermostats, combustion air adapter kits, and fuel oil filters. Depending on your space’s current environment, these additional items might mean the difference between a high-functioning oil fired unit heater or one that struggles to maintain performance when it matters most.
No. 1 and No. 2 Oil Fired Unit Heaters
These industrial oil fired unit heaters are pre-wired, fire tested, and UL listed for fuel oil grade No. 1 or No. 2. If you live in an area where natural gas or other fuels are unavailable or undependable, oil fired unit heaters offer excellent thermal efficiency and reliability. For multiple oil fired unit heater setups, it’s recommended that they be arranged around the outside walls and blow air parallel to the wall. The heater should then blow the warm air towards the air intake side of the next heater to provide air circulation throughout the space.
These industrial oil fired heaters are available in a variety of sizes, with features like 16-gauge heat exchangers, two-stage fuel pumps, and adjustable discharge air louvers. Rugged construction and ease of maintenance allow for a long life with consistent heat output and airflow.
Waste Oil Heaters
Waste oil fired unit heaters are especially innovative because they run on used motor oil to heat your facility. With advanced burner technology, these units offer an economical and energy-efficient way to burn waste oil while recycling your used motor oil. Not only are they efficient, but waste oil fired unit heaters also help save money by eliminating disposal costs for used oils.
These commercial and industrial oil fired unit heaters can be fueled by waste oil (used crankcase oil up to 50 wt), used synthetic oil, used No. 1 and No. 2 fuel oil, used C.C. synthetic ATF No. 1 and No. 2, and used automatic transmission fluid. You should not use hazardous waste, brake fluid, or used cooking oil. Hazardous waste and brake fluid are illegal to burn in a waste oil heater. As of now, there is no UL safety standard for the use of cooking oil in a waste oil heater, and it should not be used.
