York 025-43401-000 is a Crankcase Heater with a wattage of 140 Watts and a voltage of 240V. How does Crankcase Heater work? Crankcase Heater is designed to prevent crankcase oil and refrigerant mix-up when the compressor is not in use.  The Crankcase Heater withholds the oil in the crankcase at a high temperature higher than the coldest part of the system.  The high temperature will cause pressure increase wherein the refrigerant entering the crankcase will be vaporized and no oil-refrigerant mix-up will develop. To avoid refrigerant migration, it is necessary to purchase a Crankcase Heater for your compressor.  This device is proven to be efficient in prolonging the life of a compressor and lessens maintenance cost by reducing the loss of refrigerant.
