Rheem Burner Assembly The AM46743 is an OEM Rheem water heater burner assembly kit. It contains a pilot assembly and water heater igniter. Replacing the water heater burner assembly can improve the output of your water heater while reducing your energy costs. A new water heater burner kil will enable the correct amount of fresh air in the combustion chamber to produce a stable flame source. A water heater works when cold water is introduced into the tank via a dip tube. As the water is heated by the burner, the warmer water rises and is pumped into your water supply system. Before replacing your burner kit, consult a licensed technician to insure the proper procedures and safety checks are performed before removing the old unit.
