Operating Principles
A Port-A-Cool portable evaporator cooler is a device that cools an area that conventional air conditioners will not. But what kind of area are we talking about and how? The Port-A-Cool unit cools an open area by evaporating water and blowing out chilled air. These are not like the small air conditioners you use at home. Portable evaporator coolers are generally used to cool a loading dock, warehouse, outside at a construction site, at an athletic event, workshop or garage. These units are portable because they do not require any assembly, installation or mounting, instead they are moved as a whole self contained unit either by hand or on a heavy duty rolling cart.
Benefits
• Costs on average a dollar a day to operate. • Effective, cools between 15-25 degrees of the surrounding area. • Uses a natural cooling process, no harmful greenhouse gas. • Unit is leak proof and rust proof. • Increases the productivity of jobs getting done in a warehouse or factory by keeping workers air conditioned. • The moist pads inside the cooler double as an air filter which helps keep dust and pollen out. • The unit adds moisture to the air which keeps furniture and fabrics from drying out. • Ready to set up out of the box, no assembly necessary. Things to consider • Only works best when the air is dry, does not work as well when the humidity in the outside air increases. • Uses up to 15 gallons of water a day. • Water tank attachment only lasts 2 hours of use before needing to be refilled or switching to an alternate supply such as the hose.
