Hazardous area heaters have special safety features that offer additional protection in high-risk environments. For example, this QMark GUX1500832 explosion-proof electric unit heater includes a powder-coated heavy gauge steel cabinet surrounding a 14-gauge heavy-duty steel frame, an explosion-proof motor with built-in thermal overload protection, and more. Optional motors are available for Class I, Group C, and special T3B applications.
The Ruffneck FX5-208360-150 explosion-proof unit is UL-certified for Class I, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups C & D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F & G; Class II, Divisions 2, Groups F & G; Class I, Zones 1 & 2, Groups IIA & IIB; and Temperature code T3B 165°C (329°F) applications. It has a thermally protected motor with permanently lubricated ball bearings, and an optional built-in 36°F to 82°F thermostat is available.
The Norseman XGB350T2C has a heavy-duty 16-gauge stainless steel casing with extra heavy wall tubular steel finned heating elements and patented x-Max housing with slide-out terminal block trolley for easier electrical connection. The unit can be tilted at 30 degrees below horizontal, or the entire louver assembly can be rotated 90 degrees for lateral airflow.
